No.SB/Dlgs  dated at Palakkad the 16.5.2013

              U R G E N T       A N D      I M P O R T A N T

To:      All Offices (including BOs)

You are well aware that state government and commercial banks have started work to open SB accounts and link the same with Aadhar number etc.. to implement Direct benefit transfer of various benefits.  You would have read various news appeared in Dailies in the recently.

This is to inform you that Post Office is  now equipped  to effect Direct Benefit Transfer of all benefits of Central / State Government sponsored schemes viz.  LPG subsidy, Educational Scholarships, Health schemes , Social security Pension benefits, payment of wages under MGNREGS etc….  We have developed CPSMS Fund Transfer software for this purpose and will be launched in Palakkad Division soon.

This is one of the opportunities open before us to encourage  all the beneficiaries of different schemes to avail DBT through Post Offices.  Therefore all are requested to give wide publicity to avail  benefits through Post offices.  Maximum number of SB accounts may be opened on this occasion.  If the opportunity is not utilized now, we can not compensate loss of revenue due to stoppage of e-MOs .

A notice  is being given in NEWSPAPER today, requesting all beneficiaries to avail DBT through Post Office account.  Therefore all assistance may be provided to the members of public who approach you on this occasion.

Linking of Aadhar number with SB account number  is a pre-requisite for effective DBT.  The process of linking aadhar number may be continued in good spirit.

It is hoped that all will realize the grim situation and  rise to the occasion. This shall be brought to the notice of all officials in your office and explained in vernacular.  A meeting of BO staff shall also be arranged in your office  and details explained to them.
