Sub: - Urgent action required in respect of International inward EMS articles-reg.

          Extract of the communication received from Regional office regarding the inward international EMS articles is reiterated as follows:-

“It is observed that the post offices are not updating the time in Speed net while updating the delivery status of the International inward EMS articles. So the default time is taken as 00:00 hour. As a result the Event ‘Item delivered’ appears before ‘Receive item at Post office.’ Hence even after the article is delivered and updated on time the article is reflected pending.

It is also noticed that the delivery status of the BO articles are made on a later date. The system calculates only with the date on which the status is updated. For example, if an article is delivered on 02.03.2014 and the delivery status is updated on 05.03.2014 the article is categorized under late delivery even if the date of delivery is given as 02.03.2014.Most of the articles get invalidated and are not paid for delivery due to the above reasons.”

Hence it is requested to inform all concerned to update the delivery information of International inward EMS articles on time and also to run the communication twice a day so that the delivery performance increases and earning of the Department is not compromised.
