Sub: SDR equivalent to Indian Rupee in pursuance of detailed regulations of the UPU (Beijing Congress 1999) effective from 01.01.2014.

An extract of Directorate letter no.1-68/2013-Rate dated 15.01.2014 Communicated vide RO.endt.no. Tech/12-19/05.Vol:2 dated 11.02.2014 is reproduced below for information, guidance and necessary action.

 The postal administration of India has fixed the average value of SDR equivalent in Indian Rupee as under:

1 S.D.R     =       Rupees 85.9980

This refers to para-1 of Article 5 (Para- 2 of Article RE 104) of the detailed regulations of the Universal Postal Union Convention of Beijing Congress 1999. This rate will be effective from 1^st January 2014.
