Sub: Simplification
in the procedure to be followed in case of out of account
Recovery-reg.
It is proposed to arrange
recovery of amounts collected from officials at HPO itself to avoid the risk
involved in handling cash and also in view of the present system of payment of
Pay and Allowances through SB account.
This procedure is already implemented in many HPOs in the region and
will be introduced on an experimental basis for 6 months from the month of July
2014 onwards.Postmasters may report the advantages and disadvantages of the
system after 30.11.2014. The following procedures will be followed

All offices including BOs are to be instructed
to credit the salary to POSB account mandatorily. For this purpose, it is to be ensured that
all officials including GDS are having POSB account in their name.

Take home pay list will be forwarded to all
offices including BOs from July 2014
instead of Acquittance rolls.
·
All SPMs/BPMs are advised to charge only the
“Take Home Pay” shown in the Take Home Pay List.
·
Under Bills Paid, Take Home Pay only will be
charged.
·
HO will draw an acquittance roll to Postmaster
showing each category of out of account and this will be done on the 1st
working day of the next month.
·
SPMs will give necessary instructions connected
to this subject to BOs well in advance
and ensure that all are having POSB account in their name and the
accounting procedure to be followed to avoid any confusion.
